Self Watering Containers Workshop

The Murphy Center Teen Zone and BJ McCarville spray painting buckets for the Self Watering Container Workshop.
Inspired Farmers, in conjunction with Transform a Street, will be hosting a workshop on Making Self Watering Containers from Recycled Materials. The workshop will be held on Friday May 11 from 6pm to 7pm on Richmond Street, between Pownal and Queen Streets in Charlottetown, PEI.
The containers will be used to act as a barrier between the cycle path and the driving lane of the street. Transform a Street is an initiative by Cycle PEI and the City of Charlottetown to demonstrate to the community what a “complete street” would look like and will include bike lanes, pedestrian lanes and green space. Transform a Street will run from May 11 – May 19 and will include various events and workshops throughout the week.
Following the event, the containers will be moved to the Murphy Community Center where they will be used as part of the Inspired Farmers Demonstration Garden.
If you are interested in learning how to make self watering containers, please stop by Richmond Street, between Pownal Street and Queen Street on Friday May 11, at 6 pm. We look forward to seeing you there.
Inspired Farmers is a community group based in Charlottetown, PEI. Through workshops, demonstration gardens and media, we strive to demonstrate to the community the ways we can grow food, improve health and take control over our well being.
